Mamelodi Sundowns to earn millions at FIFA Club World Cup

The Brazilians will compete in the new format of the competition to be played for the first time in the United States and featuring 32 clubs from AFC, CAF, Concacaf, CONMEBOL, OFC and UEFA. Sundowns are in Group F with Borussia Dortmund, Fluminense and Ulsan HD with games played between June 14 and July 13. The top two teams in each group will advance to the knockout stage while reaching the quarter-finals could potentially add another R137 million to the Sundowns' coffers. The winner of the competition will scoop prize money of R730 million. Sundowns are one of four African teams in the tournament, alongside Al-Ahly, Esperance and Wydad Casablanca.
